No More Gas
As the government imposes stricter implementations regarding exhaust emissions and fuel consumption, automakers are doing their best to come up with vehicles that can comply with the set standards. However this is the case, automakers are still yet to create the perfect vehicle and some people are just too anxious to wait. Dana Myers, an American, is one of the anxious ones. Out of her waiting, she has come up with a “tiny solution to the carbon crisis.” She developed her own vehicle that is truly unique, cute and most of all, truly green.
The vehicle she created is tagged as the No More Gas (NmG). Unlike other green vehicles like the hybrids, the NMG is purely electric. It does not need fuel at all to run, nor does it allow shifting from using electricity then fuel. For those who have seen it, they say that the NmG looks like a “three-wheeled technicolor shoehorns.” It has a power that is not far off from that of normal vehicles. In fact, it can zip down the highway just fine. The disadvantage would be that it has a battery with a maximum range of just 30 miles or 50 kilometers, room for one passenger and some stuffs on the trunk.
Buyers of NmGs normally use the vehicle for mobile advertising, which makes perfect sense for the NmG is truly a head turner—an attention grabber. According to Richard Rettammel, a NmG owner, when he was asked what he liked best about the NmG, he said “[i]t’s a conversation starter. It’s a smile generator. When you drive it down the street, people stop. If I had a brand new Ferrari I don’t think I’d get that much attention.”
